It's a single pocket divided by lining-material into three, separate compartments, each with its zip; the third pocket is at the rear. The design makes it flatter, though less accommodating, than the conventional bum-bag and probably less vulnerable to pickpockets. I find I can fit a mobile telephone, wallet and credit cards; adding a purse is difficult. The addition of loops inside the pockets would allow one to attach the chain of a traveller's wallet. This minor detail apart, I recommend the product.
