What is a TSA Lock?

A TSA lock is a specialised lock that can either be built into the luggage itself or be fitted and bought separately. They are locks which have been approved by the Transport Security Administration to allow customs and baggage handlers to open the luggage without the owner being present. This is a legal requirement in countries like America. TSA Locks will show the red diamond to show they are approved by Travel Sentry.

Why do I need a TSA Lock?

TSA locks can be opened using a master key that the authorities hold. If your luggage needs to be opened for inspection it can be forced open, leaving you with damaged luggage, broken zips and a suitcase that cannot be shut again. A TSA Lock removes the need for force, giving you security that your luggage is safe. All of our TSA combination lock luggage can have their own codes set and changed as often as required by the owner, more information on this can be found on our suppliers websites. Alternatively, you can contact us and we will guide you through the process. When buying luggage with a lock, remember that if it doesn't say TSA it isn't a TSA Lock.
